– Apr 26 6pm -9pm Hang Out and join the bandwagon with the Coastal Conservation League, at Midtown Bar & Grill 559 King St. Net proceeds from drinks goes to this great non-profit.

– Apr 27 6pm  Party at the Park – Adults – Joe Riley Stadium – music – benefit for Windwood Farm Home For Children.

– Apr 27 – May 1  Community Gardening with Park Angels <– find more details, times, and parks (Cannon Park is Apr 30 as well as May1 with CofC).

- Apr 28 Dining Out For Life – see details for which great restaurants donate net proceeds >25% to fight AIDS. 

- Apr 29,  10am -2pm (843)722-1644 YWCA, 106 Coming St. Stand Against Racism Celebration. Includes ACLU & NAACP, the League of Women Voters, the Charleston Jewish Federation, dancers from WO’SE of Charleston, and ethnic food, etc. Also Planned Parenthood, MUSC, Circulo Hispanoamericano de Charleston, and more community members.

- Apr 29 – May 7 North Charleston Arts Festival

- Apr 29 7-11pm Oxygen Ball “Lowcountry Dancing with the Stars” FUNdraising Party for the American Lung Association.

- Apr 29 ~ start at sunset ~6pm.  Movie at the Joe – watch “The Incredibles” at dark, but start off at 6pm with food, live shows with and for Kids to benefit Dee Norton Lowcountry Childrens Center. All ages!

- Apr 29 ~ come at sunset Movies in Marion Square – bring blankets & watch under the stars: “Ghost Bird” (non-fiction). Drinks & Food sold – some very healthy. Each Friday is a Non-Profit FUNDraiser Raffle for $1.  Friday is Coastal Conservation League, Mother Nature’s best advocates, show their local video winner, “My Day!” More details about Charleston City Paper & Sponsors. Walk-bike with Holy City Bike Co-op, they take donations, used bikes, tools…

– Apr 30 8am-2pm,  Farmers Market Marion Square. Very diverse – something for everyone.

Apr 30 10am – 2pm All Ages $10 FAM Jam at the Children’s Museum, 25 Ann St (843-853-8962) fun, live music, entertainment, activities, food, etc.

– Apr 30 Gibbes Museum of Art – world class exhibits.  10am – 1pm All Ages – Free for Community Day, held quarterly, hands-on art outreach programs, sponsored by Junior League of Charleston. Special performances by The 3 Dudes and Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Children’s Choir.

– Apr 30 11am-3pm, Charleston County Earth Day Festival celebrations, arts, science, & educational activities & booths, and promotions (waste-free)! All Ages, Free, games, prize drawings, music, etc. Park Circle, N.Charleston

– Apr 30, Do The Charleston! Swing Dance lessons between 6-8pm, then dance until 11pm.  Charleston Swing Dance Assoc.  Hazel Parker Center at 70 East Bay St.

– Apr 30 7pm “Preservation in Profile, The Preservation Party” Memminger Auditorium Benefit for the Preservation Society of Charleston.org – Exec. Dir. Evan Thompson should be another in a long line of great leaders to steer the great Charleston bandwagon…

– Apr 30 7pm  Park Circle Films – “Seven Days in Slow Motion” (All Ages) N.Charleston

– May 1 at 3pm The annual Yom HaShoah Memorial Tribute to Holocaust Survivors. CharlestonRemembers.org at the Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St. Free and open to “Promote mutual respect for all peoples. To create goodwill and build community amongst all ethnicities…inspire people to take a stand for what is right.”

– May 1,  2-5pm The Spring Social Fundraiser for The Teacher’s Supply Closet. Tour homes and gardens South of Broad and hear great music including Leah Suarez, Charleton Singleton, Ron Wiltrout, as well as great food & drinks. $50 each, but the $100 VIP ticket also includes an after party at Gage Hall.  843-225-9895

– May 1 (date changed to May 1) 7-11pm  Jail Break! Join and support  The American College of the Building Arts in the Old City Jail, the Starving Artists, the ghosts, and the local band Entropy Ensemble, etc. Talk about off-the-grid…this is it! You got to see it or feel it to believe it… “this is not my beautiful house….”
